PJ UAS is a FAA 333 Exemption holder that operates under parent company PJ Helicopters, Inc. PJ Helicopters (PJH) has been servicing the forestry, construction, law enforcement, and utility industries for over 45 years and conducts missions throughout the United States. Located in Red Bluff, California, PJH started as a small family owned agriculture spraying business and has since expanded its operations to now primarily include electric transmission/generation maintenance and construction, oil and gas operations support, extensive nation-wide fire fighting, and general construction/precision heavy-lift, all while maintaining an industry-leading safety record. With over 40 proprietary work procedures, PJH continues to be on the forefront of the utility helicopter industry. PJH now operates a multi-functional fleet of 29 helicopters and 4 fixed wing aircraft to service its customer’s needs.
In February of 2015, PJH took notice of the rapidly growing UAS industry and applied for a FAA 333 Exemption. In the summer of 2015 PJH received its 333 exemption for aerial data collection, inspection, reconnaissance, and mapping. The exemption was designed & approved to provide PJ the ability to perform a multitude of work procedures for both current and future rotorcraft customers.
Here at PJ Helicopters we are aviators first. With decades of experience performing these same work procedures in larger manned aircraft, we possess the operational experience and track record that many new-market entry UAS operators don’t. We are confident in this operational advantage, and are excited to offer a growing number of Unmanned services to our customer base.
